What Pleroma stores in your browser, and why
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Pleroma keeps local storage tiny on purpose. Nothing below is used for advertising. Nothing is sold. Every non-essential item is off until you turn it on through the consent banner.
Strictly necessary
Exempt from consent under ePrivacy Art. 5(3) because the site cannot work without it.

Analytics
Google Analytics 4 and Pleroma's own reading and tool statistics are NOT active until you accept analytics in the consent banner. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless, aggregate-only measurement service that stores no personal identifier and sets no cookie; it runs without consent because it cannot identify you.
Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_T7STPN4YSD)
Counts unique visitors, page views and the events listed in the privacy policy (clicks, checkout starts, newsletter sign-ups), IP anonymised.
2 years
Vercel Web Analytics
Measures page performance at the edge, no client cookies.
Rolling 30 days
session.id
A random per-tab ID that groups the pages viewed in one visit for our own reading statistics. Session storage, never a cookie.
Until the tab closes
toolEvent.logged.[tool]
Notes that a tool's page view was already counted in this visit, so a reload does not count it twice. Session storage, set only after you accept analytics.
Until the tab closes
