Sacred Secretion Dates

Sacred Secretion Dates for Gemini: The Twins' Monthly Fast Window

Earth first, then the breath.

The short answer

A Gemini Sun's window opens when the Moon enters Taurus and closes when the Moon leaves Gemini — roughly five days, with the seed moment at the Moon crossing 60°, the doorway into Gemini. The next window runs from Mon, Sep 28, 2026, 14:40 UTC to Fri, Oct 2, 2026, 19:54 UTC, midpoint Wed, Sep 30, 2026, 17:26 UTC. Twelve computed windows follow.

How the window is computed for Gemini

Moon at 30° — enters Taurus · 60° — enters Gemini · 90° — enters Cancer

The Gemini window spans 30° to 90° of the ecliptic. The Moon's transit of Taurus (30°–60°) is phase one; the Moon crossing 60° into Gemini is the midpoint; the Moon's passage through Gemini to 90° — where Cancer and the summer solstice point begin — is phase two. The Moon takes about two and a half days per sign, so the whole arc runs 4d 5h on average across the twelve windows below, between 4d 1h and 4d 9h.

Gemini's cusp days fall around May 20–21 and June 20–21. Born within two days of either? The Sun's sign change moves by up to a day between years, so the date alone may not decide between Taurus, Gemini and Cancer. The calculator asks for birth time and birthplace timezone and computes the Sun's actual longitude at that moment.

What the tradition asks of a Gemini body

Gemini is Air ruled by Mercury, and the tradition gives it the shoulders, arms, hands and lungs — everything the body uses to reach, gesture and speak. It is the sign of the two, the twin channels, and it is no accident that a Gemini's inner life often feels like a conversation that never quite closes. Carey's map puts the Moon's passage through Gemini at the lungs: the breath, which is also the speech.

The fast lands on a Gemini differently than on the Earth signs. Hunger is rarely the problem. Restlessness of mind is. In phase one the Moon is in Taurus, slow and bodily, and a Mercury-ruled system experiences that slowness as boredom — the itch to check, to message, to fill the hours with input. The tradition's water-only instruction is really, for this sign, an instruction about intake of every kind. Less food, yes. Also fewer words going in and fewer coming out.

When the Moon enters Gemini and the seed is said to be released, the region lit is the chest and the hands. Carey's Gemini salt was potassium chloride, the fibrin-builder — image, not remedy. What matters practically is that a Gemini keeps the fast by keeping the breath long. Ida and Pingala, the two channels braided around the spine, are your sign's own symbol; the tradition's spine-breathing during the window is almost tailored for you. When the mind splits and runs, follow one breath up and one down, and let the twins sit together for once.

Tonight

One practice for the Gemini window

An hour tonight without words: no speaking, no typing, no reading. Set the phone face down in another room. Sit with your palms resting together in your lap — the two hands, the two channels, touching — and breathe so slowly that you can hear it. When the mind produces a sentence, and it will, notice that a Gemini can watch a sentence without saying it. That gap between the thought and the mouth is what the tradition means by retention in your sign. One hour, alone, nothing to buy.

Questions about the Gemini window

When is the sacred secretion for Gemini?

Monthly, from the Moon entering Taurus to the Moon leaving Gemini — about five days, with the seed moment at 60°, the first degree of Gemini. Your next window: Mon, Sep 28, 2026, 14:40 UTC to Fri, Oct 2, 2026, 19:54 UTC, midpoint Wed, Sep 30, 2026, 17:26 UTC. The twelve windows on this page are recomputed from real ephemeris every day.

How long does the Gemini window last?

Over the twelve windows computed here it averages 4d 5h, with the shortest at 4d 1h and the longest at 4d 9h. The spread comes from the Moon's changing speed along its orbit; the two-sign arc is always 60°, but the hours it takes are not fixed.

What if I was born on the Gemini cusp?

If your birthday is within two days of May 21 or June 21, the Sun may have been in Taurus or Cancer instead — the ingress shifts by up to a day between years — and either window sits a full sign away from this one. The calculator resolves the Sun's true position from your birth time and birthplace timezone.

Does the Gemini window depend on my birth time?

Only on cusp days. Otherwise the Sun is plainly in Gemini and the window follows from that alone: the Moon's monthly transit of Taurus, then Gemini. No rising sign, no Moon sign, no house system is involved. The dates on this page already apply; the calculator adds your timezone and a countdown.

Not for anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, diabetic, with a history of disordered eating, or taking medication that must be taken with food. The tradition itself allows a gentle version — a few berries and soaked nuts.
