How the tradition reads it
The total solar eclipse of 2027 falls in the first decan of Leo in early August, and its computed point of greatest eclipse lies over the Nile valley of Upper Egypt — the ground the Hermetic tradition itself came out of. Whatever else happens to this sign in 2027, the heart of the year is the moment the Sun, Leo's own ruler, is covered completely in Leo and the corona shows. Fifteen days later a penumbral lunar eclipse falls with the Sun still in Leo and the Moon in Aquarius: the pair that opens and closes the summer eclipse season belongs to you.
Jupiter, which has been in Leo since mid-2026, stations direct in April and leaves for Virgo three days after your season opens in late July. Mars backs into Leo in retrograde in late February, turns direct there at the start of April, and leaves in mid-May.
