How the tradition reads it

Jupiter enters Virgo in late July 2027 and stays for the rest of the year. After a year in Leo's fire, the planet of expansion moves into the sign of sifting, and the tradition's reading is exact: the harvest is not the growing, it is the separating of grain from husk. Virgo's 2027 is the year the separating begins in earnest, with the largest planet in the sky lending its weight to the sieve.

Mars is also Virgo's story. The year opens with Mars retrograde in the sign's second decan, backing out into Leo in late February, turning direct there in April and re-entering Virgo in mid-May, where it stays until mid-July. That is a long triple pass — the fire of the will crossing the same degrees three times — and it ends eleven days before Jupiter arrives. What Mars sorted by force, Jupiter is asked to sort by understanding.

The full moon in Virgo in late February is also a penumbral lunar eclipse — the faintest kind, the Moon only lightly shaded — and it is the first lunar eclipse of the year. The new moon in Virgo comes at the end of August, inside your season, which runs from late August to the equinox. Mercury does not retrograde through Virgo this year. What is asked of you is discrimination without contempt: to sort, and to keep your hands gentle while you do it.

The practice

Sort with gentle hands

On the day Jupiter enters your sign, take one drawer, one folder or one list and separate it into keep and release — but do it slowly, touching each thing, breathing once per item. The pace is the practice. Notice when contempt arrives for the things you are releasing. Put the contempt in the release pile too. Repeat once a month until the year ends.
