How the tradition reads it
Capricorn holds both ends of 2027. The year opens inside its season — the Sun is at the goat's tenth degree on New Year's Day and leaves for Aquarius in the third week of January — and closes inside it again from the December solstice. Two new moons fall in the sign, one at each end: one in the first week of January, one in the last week of December. Whatever you seed in the first days of the year is seeded again, near the sign's beginning, in the last. The tradition calls that a second firing.
Between them, the full moon in Capricorn in mid-July is also a penumbral lunar eclipse — the Moon at the goat's late degrees, lightly shaded by the Earth, with the Sun in Cancer opposite. It is the only eclipse to touch the sign this year and it is the subtle kind: no drama, just a dimming you have to be paying attention to notice. The structure is not cracked. It is shown to have a shadow side.
Mercury does not retrograde in Capricorn in 2027. Pluto, which spent fifteen years in the sign, has gone into Aquarius and does not return. Mars enters in late November and is at home through the December season; Venus passes twice, in February and again in late November. For the sign of structure, this is a year of building without the demolition crew on site — which means every wall you raise is one you chose.
