Scorpio 2027

Scorpio receives two full moons in 2027, and they bracket the whole sign: one in April at 0°36′ — the Moon has barely crossed the threshold — and one in May at 29°13′, less than a degree from leaving. The first is the full moon of entry, the second the full moon of exit, and between them lies every degree of the scorpion. The tradition would say the sign is being read cover to cover in one month, and that you are the one reading it.

The season runs from late October to late November. Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio's first degrees in early October, so the messenger has already backed out of your sign into Libra a week before the Sun arrives, and turns direct there 5 days into your season. Mars passes through Scorpio from early September to mid-October, Venus from early October to the start of November — the two personal planets hand the sign to the Sun in turn. The new moon in Scorpio falls at the end of October, the day after Mercury turns direct.

No eclipse falls in Scorpio this year, and no slow planet is in the sign. What 2027 asks of Scorpio is the work of the two full moons: to enter the depth completely and to leave it completely, without taking up permanent residence in either. The scorpion that cannot leave the bottom is not deep. It is stuck. This is the year to learn the difference in your own body.

Between the two Scorpio full moons — from April to May — practise descending and surfacing deliberately. Once a day, breathe down into the lowest thing you are carrying, stay for ten slow breaths, and then come up on purpose, all the way, and look at something ordinary. The coming up is the part Scorpio forgets. This year the sky insists on it twice.
